1912, April 21 – EUREKA, CALIF.-NEW ERA PARK AVIATION EXHIBITION. During an aerial exhibition sponsered by the local businessmen´s association, Weldon B. Cooke flew 147 pieces of mail from the Park across Humbolt Bay to Eureka, where the pouch was dropped to postal officials. Note: the postmark contained no date. It is believed that manuscript and typed dates were added to the postmark on some items at a later date.
