Brazil. 1845, 90r. black, greyish paper, intermediate impression, block of 16 (4×4), types II & I alternating in each vertical row, clear to even ample margins for the most part, just touching at centre top, with each pair cancelled by framed “Nictheroy” handstamp, being a scarce type used in this locality. Tears and scissor cut. The third largest multiple of this denomination, of great visual impact for exhibition. Cert. Moorhouse. RHM 7+7A. Ex Studart and Hubbard.
