Great Britain 1876 (Aug 15) Memorandum from Hugh Moore & Co, wholesale druggists in Dublin, to “The Storekeeper, General Post Office, Dublin”, reading “Sir, We will thank you to send us by return of post a book containing the tariff for telegrams to all parts of the world, for which we enclose stamps 2/31/2”. The reverse bears a block of twelve of the 1856-79 2d blue plate 15 (NA-PD) each tied by vertical barred obliterator with a capital “S” within circle, the other 31/2d of stamps presumably used as postage on the package to Dublin. This rare “S” obliterator is not recorded on cover and was presumably used for special purposes in the G.P.O. A unique item.
